It records the road
Full-screen camera at 1080p, saved in 3-minute loop segments. The app keeps the last 2 hours of driving and automatically clears the oldest unlocked clips first, so you never run out of space mid-trip.
TrueSpeed Cam is a dashcam app that records video with your live GPS speed, time, and location burned into the picture itself — so if you're ever pulled over, you don't argue about your speed. You show it.
TrueSpeed Cam is currently being built. This page is the official home of the app — features, how it works, and honest answers about what GPS proof can and can't do.
Everything happens inside the app, on your phone. The camera records, the phone's GPS measures speed and position, and the app stamps both into the video before it's saved — all on the device, even with no signal.
There's no account to create, no cloud upload, and no API between you and your proof. Your clips and speed logs live in the app's storage on your phone until you share, export, or delete them. This website is just information — the app does all the work.
Three things happen at once while you drive — the video, the stamp, and the log.

High-accuracy GPS updates at least once per second. Speed, date, time, coordinates, and heading are burned directly into the video picture — part of the file itself, not a caption you can switch off or fake later.
Every trip also gets a CSV speed log — one row per second with timestamp, speed, latitude, longitude, heading, and GPS accuracy. Pulled over? Tap LOCK and the last 5 minutes are protected forever. Then play, share, or export the clip and its log together.
No special player, no app needed to view it. The proof is in the picture:
Because the data is part of the video image, the clip carries its proof anywhere it goes — texted to someone, shown at the roadside, or saved for court. The matching CSV log backs it up second by second.
No feeds, no followers, no extras. Every feature exists to make your recording complete, protected, and easy to hand over.
A huge speed readout over the camera view, updated every second from high-accuracy GPS — readable at a glance, and mirrored in the burned-in overlay.
3-minute segments, last 2 hours always kept. Old unlocked footage deletes itself in order — start it at the beginning of a trip and forget it.
Something happen — a stop, a near-miss, anything? One tap protects the last 5 minutes. Locked clips are never auto-deleted, ever.
Timestamp, speed, latitude, longitude, heading, and accuracy — one row every second. Opens in any spreadsheet and pairs with the clip from the same trip.
Switch units anytime, set a speed-limit warning, and choose 1080p quality by default. Auto-record can start when driving is detected.
No sign-up, no cloud, no tracking server. Your video never leaves your phone unless you export it. The screen stays awake while recording, so nothing is missed.
Every clip is listed with its thumbnail, time, and speed summary — no scrubbing through hours of footage.
Tap a clip to play it with the overlay already in the picture. Share or export the video and its CSV log together — to your lawyer, your insurance company, or anyone who needs to see exactly how fast you were going and where.
Locked clips sit at the top, protected. Everything else rotates out automatically as new footage comes in.
TrueSpeed Cam is strong supporting evidence. Here's the honest picture, because proof you over-trust is worse than no proof.
Phone GPS speed is accurate in normal driving, but it can lag a few seconds when you accelerate or brake hard, and it's not a certified, calibrated instrument like police radar or lidar. Treat the video + log as strong supporting evidence, not a legal guarantee.
Tunnels, parking garages, and heavy storm cover can weaken GPS. When that happens the overlay shows the accuracy getting worse — the recording never pretends to know more than it does.
On iPhone, recording runs while TrueSpeed Cam is on screen — switching to another app pauses it, which is true of every phone dashcam. Android can keep recording in the background via a foreground service. Either way: mount the phone and plug it in.
Speed alone can be questioned. Speed burned into road video — with time, place, and heading — plus a second-by-second log is a much harder story to argue with. That's why TrueSpeed Cam always keeps both.
The best evidence comes from a phone that's mounted, powered, and pointed at the road.
No. TrueSpeed Cam does everything on your phone — camera, GPS, overlay, storage. There is no account, no cloud, and no API involved in recording or keeping your proof. You can record in airplane mode.
Internet is only used if you choose to share or export a clip somewhere.
Information only — what the app does, how the proof works, setup tips, and these answers. The app itself is self-contained; this site never sees your videos, your location, or your logs.
It's strong supporting evidence, especially with time, location, and video burned in plus a second-by-second log — but no app can promise a legal outcome. GPS can lag briefly under hard acceleration and isn't a calibrated instrument. Show the video and the log together, and let them speak as a pair.
Only on your phone, inside the app. The last 2 hours of unlocked footage are kept in a loop; locked clips stay until you delete them. Nothing is uploaded anywhere by the app.
Yes — TrueSpeed Cam is being built as one app for both platforms. One difference: on iPhone, recording runs while the app is on screen; on Android it can also keep recording in the background. A mount and a car charger are recommended on both.
The oldest unlocked segments are deleted first, automatically. Locked clips are never touched by the loop — tap LOCK any time something happens and that footage is safe.
TrueSpeed Cam is in development now for iPhone and Android — one app, no account, no cloud, your speed burned into every frame.
